British American Theatre Alliance (B.A.T.A) was created in order to promote British theatrical performances in America, (New York) and provide an arena for British and American artists to work in coalition.
If I went to see a Broadway show and then I saw that same show in the West End...would my experience be the same?
Whether it be a question of style, linguistics or culture, even the most innocent observer will not deny that "British Theatre" presented in Britain is somehow distinctly different from that of "American Theater" presented in America. Yet there are also as many similarities; allowing for a good partnership. So like the personality of a child whose parents have distictly different personalities, British theatre in America, will inevitably have different and various characteristics of each. The resulting production process will, by its very nature, explore expose and embrace these cultural differences and similarities, providing an exciting artistic challenge.
